Ever since I came back from Adelaide, it seems I've lost passion in a lot of things. No, not passion. Probably inspiration. In fact, it's not just me. Even my bro and my mum feels the same. I wonder why.
Anyway, life went on, and May was pretty productive - I hope - despite the lack of inspiration.
Bro knows what I mean. Ha ha |
Luckily, things got better the next few days. Bro kept texting me the first few days, and I felt pitiful for him as from his text messages, he sounded so lonely. But later in the week, he started to joke and text the usual silly little topics we used to talk about at home. I felt he was getting used to NS life and beginning to make friends, and that instant, all the worries and heartache vanished.
It's about three weeks plus since he left for NS, and I'm fine. After all, I have a life and not having bro around doesn't make me empty... I guess. I think I probably didn't cry because I missed him, but because I was worried that he'd miss us and get homesick.
He's at Sepang camp. We're allowed to visit him every Sunday. |
Another thing is, I've officially started my Korean intermediate level classes! Our former teacher couldn't continue teaching us because he was getting busy with his studies, so we got a new teacher this time.
She's a pretty Korean lady who used to teach Korean at Kyung Hee University in South Korea. I guess that's why she knows how to handle us language learners pretty well, so although she speaks Korean throughout the whole session, I've had no problem understanding her. Hmm... Maybe I'm good? Ha! Maybe not.
Little presents from our Korean teacher: Spongebob Vitamins. Some people told me they look like cond*ms. I honestly hadn't noticed until they mentioned. Yikes. |
Sharedtalk. It allows language learners to meet native speakers online, and practice the language they're learning, as well as help others learn the language you're fluent at. We can text chat(group and personal) and voice chat, everything FOC. So far, I've met quite a few Koreans and I'd say I've definitely learnt a lot more than what's taught in class.
Here's a friendly notice if you'd want to register an account on Sharedtalk. You might want to leave the last name section on the form empty because you wouldn't be able to edit it later on, and your full name is shown whenever you enter the chat room. ;)
Apart from the updates, it's currently the Thomas and Uber Cups season! I can't believe it's actually been two years since the previous TUC.
In 2010, I shed tears in Bukit Jalil Putra Stadium because my most beloved Korean ladies won the Uber Cup for their very first time. They're all at Wuhan, China this time, and I sure hope to see good results. I know it's gonna be tough for the ladies to keep the Cup this year, but I'm still on their side - and the men's too! :D
Anyway, I shall keep the TUC topic for the next post. Hope this entry will keep this blog alive for the moment.
Till then, stay well!
