Sweet Sorrow

Let me introduce this Korean group named Sweet Sorrow. I really want to do this because their performance never failed to touch my heart whenever I see them.

You might have thought of leaving when you saw the words 'Korean group'. But don't worry, they are not idols, not those young boys and girls dancing around on stage. Sweet Sorrow sings. They do harmonising and acappella, which I love.

Watch this video of one of my favourite performance of theirs.

I think their harmonising is heavenly, and they've recently became my inspiration. Or motivation. Whatever you call that.

Why? Because one of those guys did English Literature and Psychology at university. He made me feel my dream. It seems to be telling me that nothing is impossible, as he's singing with his friends like angels from the heavens, and he's a psychology graduate (did he or have he graduated? I'm not sure).

Yeah. So who said psychology students are nerds? Who said they know nothing but reading books and journals? Who said they only study behaviours? This guy sings! Heavenly!
Well okay, I think I went a little overboard there. But I like to see them on Immortal Songs 2, a Korean program where singers rearrange Korean oldies and perform on the weekly competition. The program introduces lots of singers from the olden days to the younger generation, and it also brings lots of oldies back alive. Which, I think is good. :-D

I have to say one thing, though. I prefer to watch Sweet Sorrow on Immortal Songs than to hear them singing their own songs from their album. Seems to me that the songs from the albums don't really bring out their talents and specialities, but it's possible that I have not came across the good ones yet.

Anyway, that's about it. Now I always look forward to watch the weekly program so I can hear them sing. I don't spend money on concert tickets, but I've thought that if they ever come to Malaysia, I might go for it. aha!

  1. I'm glad you like sweet sorrow.. they're one of my favorite group..ever..!!
And yes, Kim Young Woo did graduate from Psychology grad school at Yonsei University.
The other 3 also graduate from Yonsei. In Ho Jin have bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Song Woo Jin have bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, and Sung Jin Hwan have a bachelor degree in economics.
I love almost all their song in their albums and singles, but my favorite is 사랑이란 (1st album), 예뻐여 (2nd album) and Good Night from the third album.. but yes, it's true that their performance on Immortal Song exceed all the song in the albums.
By the way, they wrote and arrange all their songs.. such a talented group..
Thanks for letting me spazzing on your blog.. (^_~)
