Currently Reading...

This has got to be the first biography book I've ever bought. Not sure why I bought it, yet, though. Probably I just wanted to try reading something like that. But I surely would like to know more about the life he lived. Perhaps that could aid in my learning about life.

From what I've read so far, I guess Jobs must have went through quite a tough time in convincing himself to allow everything to be revealed truthfully. The book's author, Walter Isaacson, said, Jobs didn't seek any control over what he wrote, or even asked to read it in advance. And Jobs' wife, Laurene Powell had also encouraged Isaacson to be honest about Jobs' failings. "There are parts of his life and personality that are extremely messy, and that's the truth."

At some point in life, we'll learn that some of the things we used to think were right, can be in fact very wrong, and due to the die-hard persistence we had back then, realising and accepting the truth (that it was wrong, and you were wrong), can be a very painful thing to do. But sometimes, that's the only way we can get out of it and become a better person.

I guess, for Jobs to get someone to write everything about his life, truthfully, was probably a decision he made to face - and accept - the mistakes he had conducted. And, with that, tell the world that all that doesn't stop one from becoming a successful person.

Actually, instead of looking at this book as the biography of the founder of Apple, I see it more as a book about Life. And apart from learning about Steve Jobs, I think it'll also allow me to see, and learn, more about life.

So yes, we'll see what more about life I will come to comprehend later on.

Stay well!

  1. Steve Jobs! I was considering buying that too, before I realised that I will be moving out again and the lesser things I have to pack and keep, the better.

  2. Haha, is that an excuse for having no time to read? A book won't hurt much even if you're moving out :P
